Our Commitment to Privacy
lesdo.it is built on a simple principle: your data belongs to you and only you. We've architected our application to ensure that your tasks, notes, and personal information never leave your device unless you explicitly choose to sync or backup using the Colab features.
What Data We Collect
Authentication
We use Clerk for secure authentication, allowing you to sign in using email and password or Single Sign-On (SSO) with providers like Google, Microsoft, and others. When you create an account:
- Your email address and authentication credentials are securely managed by Clerk
- SSO providers only share basic profile information (name, email) with Clerk
- Authentication data is encrypted and stored securely according to industry standards
- We never see or store your passwords—they're handled exclusively by Clerk
Important: Your account credentials are separate from your task data. Even with an account, your tasks remain stored locally on your device in the free version.
Free Version
When you use the free version of lesdo.it, we collect zero personal data. Your tasks, notes, projects, and all productivity data are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage. We have no access to this information.
Colab Version (When Available)
When using Colab features, we only collect the minimum necessary connection metadata to facilitate device-to-device synchronization. This includes:
- Device identifiers for establishing peer-to-peer connections
- Encrypted sync tokens (we cannot decrypt your data)
- Cloud storage credentials you provide (stored encrypted, never accessed by us)
Website Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how people use our website (not the app). This includes basic metrics like page views and navigation patterns. No personal identifiers are collected.
How We Use Your Data
Since we don't collect your task data, we can't use it. Period. The only data we handle is:
- Connection metadata: Used solely to establish secure connections between your devices
- Anonymous analytics: Used to improve the website experience (not the app)
- Support communications: If you contact us, we'll use your email to respond
Data Storage & Security
Your task data is stored in your browser's local storage using industry-standard encryption. When you use Colab features to backup to cloud services like Google Drive, the data is encrypted before leaving your device using end-to-end encryption.
Our sync servers act only as connection facilitators—they never store, access, or process your personal data. We use secure WebRTC connections for peer-to-peer device communication.
Third-Party Services
Clerk (Authentication)
We use Clerk as our authentication provider to ensure secure and reliable user login. Clerk processes your email and authentication information according to their Privacy Policy. Clerk is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant.
Cloud Storage (Optional)
When you choose to use cloud backup features, you're connecting directly to your chosen cloud provider (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.). We provide the interface, but the data goes directly from your device to their service using your credentials. We never have access to these credentials or your backed-up data.
Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- Export: Download all your data anytime in standard formats
- Delete: Clear all local data with one click
- Portability: Take your data to any other service
- Account deletion: Delete your Clerk account at any time, which removes all authentication data
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we'll update the "Last Updated" date and notify users through the app. We will never change our core principle: your data stays private.
